Wedgwood Blue Jasperware
A pair of Wedgwood blue jasperware plates specially designed to celebrate 200 years of American Independence and in tribute to the men and events that gave birth to a new nation in 1776.
The first plate features bas-reliefs of heads of the founding fathers in 1776. The second plate features bas-reliefs of State seals along with the Great Seal of The United States in the centre.
Both plates have the words 'American Independence Bicentennial 1776-1976' in gold lettering surrounded by 13 bas-relief stars. Each plate has the name of each founder and their state on the back of the rim along with descriptive wording and 'Wedgwood Made in England' imprint.
Each display plate measures approximately 8 1/4 inches in diameter. The plates are a limited edition being number 4664 of 5000.
The plates are first quality and are both in very good condition. They come with their original Wedgwood boxes, enclosed within a bicentennial sleeve and certificate of Authenticity.
